Privacy Policy

Effective date: 4 August 2026 · Junqo Innovation Labs Ltd

01

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Junqo Innovation Labs ("we," "us," "our"), the developer of Junqo, handles information when you use the Junqo mobile application and companion hardware device (collectively, the "Service").

Junqo does not require account registration. There is no sign-up, login, email, or password. You use Junqo by pairing the app directly with your Junqo hardware device — similar to pairing a Bluetooth headset or connecting to a WiFi router. This design choice significantly limits the personal data Junqo collects, and this policy reflects that.

By using Junqo, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

02

Information We Collect

2.1 Information We Do NOT Collect

Because Junqo has no account system, we do not collect or store:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • A password or login credential
  • Any centrally-stored profile tied to your identity

2.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is generated through normal use of Junqo and is stored only on your phone, not transmitted to or stored on any Nannoy Labs server (Junqo has no backend at this stage):

  • Call logs (numbers, timestamps, duration)
  • SMS metadata and message content, as needed to display your conversations within the app
  • USSD session history
  • Contacts you choose to add within the app
  • Names you assign to connected WiFi devices (if using the device's hotspot feature)

Note on personal data: Even though this data never reaches us, some of it — such as phone numbers in your call/SMS logs, or names you give to connected devices — legally qualifies as personal data under Nigerian law. It remains under your control at all times, on your device.

2.3 Device Telemetry and Diagnostic Data

To support real-time monitoring within the app (device status, signal strength, etc.), Junqo reads the following operational data directly from your paired device:

  • Signal strength and network type (4G/3G/2G)
  • SIM/carrier status
  • Battery level and charging status
  • Connection status (Bluetooth/WiFi)
  • Uptime and firmware version
  • Storage usage (if using the TF/SD card slot)
  • Connection and error event logs (for troubleshooting)

This telemetry data is technical/operational in nature and is displayed to you within the app. It is not transmitted to Nannoy Labs unless you explicitly choose to share diagnostic logs with us for support purposes (e.g., when reporting a bug).

2.4 App Usage Data

  • Standard, non-identifying app performance data (crash reports, feature usage) may be collected to help us improve the app, where supported by your device's operating system.
03

How We Use Information

Since Junqo operates without accounts or a backend, information is used almost entirely on your device, for your own use:

  • Displaying your call/SMS/USSD activity within the app
  • Showing real-time device status and monitoring (signal, battery, connected WiFi devices)
  • Enabling device management features (WiFi hotspot settings, restart, rename, firmware updates)
  • Diagnosing issues, only if you choose to share logs with us directly for support
04

How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, because we do not collect or hold it in the first place — it stays on your device. The only exception is if you voluntarily send us diagnostic information (e.g., emailing us a bug report), which we would use solely to help resolve your issue.

We may disclose information only if legally required to do so (e.g., a valid court order under Nigerian law) — though given our local-only data model, we generally would not have data to provide.

05

Data Storage and Security

All personal and usage data described in Section 2.2 remains on your physical device and is not transmitted to or stored on Nannoy Labs servers. You are responsible for your device's own security (e.g., phone lock screen, Bluetooth pairing security) as the primary safeguard for this data.

If you lose your phone or your paired Junqo device, please contact us at privacy@junqo.cc for guidance on securing or resetting your device.

06

Your Rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, you retain rights over your data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). Since your data lives on your own device, you can exercise most of these rights directly — for example, deleting call/SMS history or resetting your device within the app. For anything you can't resolve yourself, contact us at privacy@junqo.cc.

07

Data Retention

Data described in Section 2.2 remains on your device for as long as you choose to keep it, or until you delete it or reset the app/device. We do not independently retain this data, since we do not receive it.

08

Children's Privacy

Junqo is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18.

09

Third-Party Services

Junqo's core functionality does not rely on third-party data-processing services. If this changes in the future (e.g., adding cloud firmware updates), this policy will be updated accordingly.

10

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Junqo evolves — particularly if future versions introduce optional accounts or backend features. Material changes will be posted at junqo.cc and reflected in the app.
